Default Speedhut Glo Gauges.

I'm about to buy some, and I was just curious about you guys' experiences with them.

I'm getting them for my 97 Civic Ex, and I wanted to know how installation went, whether they plug into existing wiring, or whether there's a lot of electrical work involved, also how did you go about removing the lighting that illuminates the stock gauges.

Also, where's the ideal place to mount the dimmer switch.

here's a link for reference.

Any responses you guys have will be great. thanks again

Thier customer service is damned good (had a guy swap his gauges for a different design due to not being able to see the silver numbers on the silver flames {bad design on his and thier part} and they did it for free). All you will have to do is splice it's power wire into the illumination wire for the gauges and you're good to go.

Get the upgraded inverter, it's worth the extra bucks and it really cleans up the install as well as makes things lots simplier (two wires and a wired glowing adjuster fob that's smaller than the ****), as well as the thing (least so they say, since I got the upgraded one I can't say if it's brighter or not) is sapposta be loads brighter as well.

so basically its one wire you splice into the power, and is there a way to make it so i can just run off the stock brightness adjust?

also, is that the upgraded invertor that they show in the picture on their site?

This is thier upgraded inverter:

This is the normal inverter:

Yea you connect the positive for the inverter to the illumination wire and then leave the adjuster on the the glowing fob in the brightest setting and as long as the wire you connected it to is the one that actualy lights up the gauges than yes it will dimm like the gauges normally would.
