Does anyone know if they make amber colored bulbs for the turn signals for the tailights in a 97 civic ex. when i got new tailights (altezzas) the part of the housing where the turn signal goes isnt red and thus the turn signal is white. Well i got pulled over for it since white turn signals are illegal in pennsylvania so after i got pulled over, i colored the bulbs iwth a red sharpie and apparently the color wore off cuz i got pulled over again. anyone know if they make amber bulbs?

 

Please no altezzas, not only are they rice, IMO they look like Sh**

 

yup, theyre gettin replaced when i get my refund check, should be in the next few weeks, but i cant get another ticket, one more and ilose the license

 

yes they do make amber bulbs, or red will do also. Your local parts store will have them.

stock tails with just white/red (no amber). I have them, check my gallery for them. You can tint them to make them look like addiction2bass's tails. Again, check his gallery.

 

you need amber in the front and red or amber in the back legally..I took out the gross amber insert in the corner of 01 coupe's headlights and replaced the white bulb with an amber one for legal issues..

But for your situation to buy red or amber bulbs and yes, they do sell them..Just look up on www.sylvania.com to see what bulb your car takes in the tail before you and buy it

 

man, i need some clear corner tails. my ambers are kinda old school. i just got this car... totally stoked

 

well im SURE they make colored bulbs for your tails!!!!! go check out autozone or pepboys.... but i dont see how they could take yoru liscence away from a equipment violation...... that should be a non moving ticket.... plus depending on how soon ya ygot ticketed for it from the first ticket im not sure if they could be able to ticket ya for the same thing so quick.... tho id sugest buying some GOOD colored bulbs... cause i bought some small green lights for my truck along time ago and the green burned off REALY QUICK!!!!!!

or if ya cannt find any good colored bulbs then get some led lights... those will never change color!!!!

just pull one of the bulbs and take it into the autoparts store...
mine are yellow and stock....




and my taillights are more custom work...
fist some 99-00 civic tailights with the oem clear lower portion and upper red.. BUT LET ME WARN YOU.. if cops are being that harsh on you already DONT DO IT! cause they can still get you for not having reflectors then.... and if youve gotten two tickets for some lame clear turn signals.... THIER TARGETING YOU HARDCORE!!!!!!

but if ya do choice to try it... first get some 2,000 grit sandpaper..... then sand off the raised lettering off the tailights... then once they are smooth then use some NIGHTSHADES tint paint and start painting them... depending on how many coats you do is how dark they are...

AND ALSO IF YA DO TINT EM THEY WILL ALSO HURASE YOU ABOUT NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE THEM DURING THE DAY...
but at night thier shouldnt be any problem besides the reflectors....

i did some red super fluxleds into the lower lower clear portion this time i tinted my tails that way people see red brake lights during the day but they are still clear when im not on the brake pedal

tho i do need a few more red leds inside the taillights for a more even red..... i might also try sanding the superflux leds and try to have them wider angle....

and also with the lower portion clear i have good turn signals during the day and also i have back up lights visable again.LOL

BUT if ya want a clean looken set of tails with them TOTALY LEGAL and cop proof... then just get some 99-00 red/clear taillights... expect to pay ruffly 75-150bucks for a good set... just keep checken ebay sometimes you can get lucky and not get into a bidding war with someone else that wants em as bad as you.LOL
