man thats crap, fight that and you will win especially that you have the card..i have the same headlights as you and ingraved in the plastic theres 3 letter (i forget what they are now) and it means that there legal for street use..and i dont get why you would get introble for the intake[&:] mabey he thinks its somthing else...i dunno

You don't need a warrant for the hood if the driver gives permission, or the inside for that matter. They aren't supposed to ask unless they have probable cause to look for ANYTHING. If you got pulled over for recless driving, or over 10 mph over the speed limit...in Cali...thats probably enough for them to ask. The laws are tight and the cops have leway. Still, if a s/c or a turbo is legal there, certainly a cold air intake is as well...provided you pass emissions test.

Take it to court, no brainer.

today i have an appointment to get my headlights cleared/checked by i think the CHP......and on thursday i have an appointment to get checked by the referee. man this crap is pissing me off! what a waste of my time just because a stupid cop! i'll get back to you guys to let you know what happened. thanks for the support!

just got back from the CHP and they said there was nothing wrong with them....that they are street legal (the head and tail -lights that is). now i just have to go on thrusday and hopefully my emissions will pass (i don't see why not)

an officer can search your car anywhere if and only if he has probable cause to do so. the only part he cannot search is in your glove box because he needs a warrent to do that.

congrats man!!!...thats sick that you got to prove that cop wrong,i would find him and rub it in his face lol...and dont worry,you'll pass emsissions with the intake, unless you had a problem before hand..but the intake wont do anything to hard emissions

And trunk. Anything that isn't visable from the outside of the car needs to have permission or a warrant.
