Default Windshield Wiper Broke

A little while ago my windshield wiper **** broke. Now, the actual rod didn't break itself it feels more like the spring broke inside. At even the slightest touch the stick jumps down and starts wiping full blast w/ water spraying out at the same time.

I'm not sure whats broken, but it doesn't stay centered as it should. Rather, its down and to the right. Unless I lightly bring it back up and find the sweet spot.

Here are some pictures. Any help on how to fix this?

Buy a replacement stalk. Should be like $25-$30 on eBay I think and will only take about 30 min to install.

Can you tell me some quick steps?

I don't want the airbag going off in my face.

Air bag has nothing to do with it. There should be 3 screws on the underside of the steering column plastic cover. Pop the top part off and remove the bottom. From there, you should be able to see the screws holding the stalk on. I had to replace my brothers headlight stalk a while ago so the swap for you shouldn't be that bad.

Check eBay. I bet there are seller only offering the one side you need. you may get lucky by finding a parts car on craigslist in your area that you can get, too.

It does not seem to complicated, just go to a local honda used parts store or something, they usually not just sell, but repair small things too.
