It takes all of about 5 minutes to take off the trim to paint it correctly. This shows how to remove the window trim without breaking it. YouTube - ‪Honda Civic Lower Window Trim Removal‬‏ Although, if it's that old that its chipping, you might as well just buy new ones because the felt is probably gone and letting a lot of water down into your door panel.

no clue, but i figure it is easier and cheaper than actually replacing them. if i have to repaint it 2x a year, then such is life, i am alright with that.

Replacing them is actually easier, been there done that but to each his own.

You don't even have to sand them down if you're really lazy, like me.

I just used automative spray paint from a can and re-sprayed my CR-V wiper arms. Five minutes and I was done.
