AEM V2

Distributor: Ebay
Product: AEM V2 CAI
Car:1999 Civic Ex
Price: $267
Installation: This was my first upgrade to the engine so far, and i didnt have too many problems installing it myself. It took about 2 and a half hours to remove the stock air box, the resonator, the inner mud flaps of the right side, and my front passenger side tire. I could re-install this intake in about an hour now after learning. It shouldnt take anyone that really knows what they're doing for more than an hour. The instructions have some unclear things, such as which bolts are easier to remove first and such, because while i was removing the engine mount, there are 3 bolts, then one that attaches to the inside of the wheel well area, and i had to put one of the screws back on in order to get the last one off. It wasnt too bad though. Im happy with the results, and i will keep my eye on it for a week or so.
Review: Considering I have only had it on for one day, I already love it. even at really low RPMs like 2000, you step on the gas and you can really hear the intake sucking up alot of air, and it has a nice deep roaring sound, all the way until redline. When you get into Vtec, it sounds a little scary. Many people also say it has improved their gas mileage, i wouldnt be able to say. I am so glad i went with this intake, because yea i spent $267, but at least I know i got one of the top of the line cold air intakes. The V2 is no doubt in the top 3 best CAI, but its just a matter of opinion which one actually is the best.I did notice better gains in the low to mid RPMs and pretty much all the way through, i would just hate to have anything less keeping in mind that intakes dont make drastic changes. I give this intake a 9.5/10

RE: AEM V2

I have the V2 and I ran into some problems during installation as well. I actually didnt think it was going to fit right for a minute. But I have improved my gas milage 2 to 3 MPG I believe.

RE: AEM V2

It makes a roar unlike other intakes that is a result of the resonant frequencies of the two different sized pipes in it.

theyre not kiding about the roar either when im flooring it it almost sounds like a turbo withouth the spool part just a nice whistle and kinda sounds like a waste gate too when you let off
