1996 honda civic DX headlight issue

Hello there,

i have a headlight problem on my 1996 civic DX.

My left headlight bulb went out so i got a replacement. When installed i've noticed that it works only the position light on that one, while the right one works fine.
When i go to turn on the high beams, nothing works on the left headlight, while everything is fine on the right one.

I've tried to switch the bulbs, taking the one installed on the right headlight and put it on the left, the problem though persists.

The bulb has the same brand/serial number of the one that was installed before.

I've also noticed that the blue light on the dashboard for the high beams is really dimmed, you can barely notice it brighting up when i turn them on.

One of the black wires that goes to the headlight plug was peeled off, showing some of the copper wire. I took some electrical tape and wrapped it to isolate it. Still no luck to it.

Where should i look to fix the problem?

Thank you very much in advance!

It means the bulb's one point is working and the other is faulty. If you buy the new one then you can change it by telling them that it is not working properly. Some times the new products also have some hidden faults which we see after using them. But if you recently purchased that then you can replace that. Gud luck...

in all actuality, there is a short, it has nothing to do with the bulbs.

especially if there is exposed strands on a wire already...
