-Probably recommended by everyone on the forum, get a retrofit (I plan on getting one! Can't wait!). It is basically using your stock headlight and putting a projector in it. Im not too sure about the 4300k color being best, from what ive seen 5000k is the closest to natural sun light, so the easiest to see (closer to what our eyes are used to) but i do agree that any lights above 6000k are not a good idea. From what ive read, for practicle use, anything between 4000k and 6000k will work fine, its just a personal preference in that range.

and as for the retrofit, the link to the forum i posted goes long with the store Dis posted. Lots of good info on retrofits. i suggest checking it out before deciding.

If you decide to go with aftermarket projectors (thouse would be the entire housing with a projector mounted in it) over a retrofit, be sure to get the right HIDs. they may be projectors, but they are still designed around a hallogen light. however TRS (the store that was linked) has a HID kit designed to work with hallogen projectors.

I know you said you didnt want to spend too much... but there really isnt a good way to do cheap HIDs...

I would like to point out that trucks blinding people using HIDs isn't a good excuse to use PnP kits in halogen reflectors. People go on shooting rampages and kill several people; does that mean it's okay to kill just one or two people? It sounds ridiculous, but it's the same logic.
