Any golfers?
yeah, all ***** are the same, sure they say better performance, accurary (sp) and what not, but when it comes down to it, it's all perference and wallet size, clubs, theres alot of options, now its mainly graphite, but theres still options like, left handed, right handed, off set, and other options, but for beginners Dick's sporting goods, or something along those lines has good sets of clubs fairly cheap, you dont need Callaway clubs if your new, PM me for other info if ya need it
I've been golfing my entire life, and took second in the state two years in a row[:@] in high shcool. I can tell you from experience, that all ***** are not the same... I would recommend Top Flite XL-3000s for a beginner. They're a little bigger, and more forgiving when it comes to slices/shanks. As far as clubs are concerned, go with a low-mid priced set. If you go too cheap, you'll regret it in a year. But expensive clubs are designed for skilled players, with hella accuracy, so you dont want that either. I'd say anywhere from 200-600 for a full set (woods, irons, wedge). Hope that helps. WHen you start shopping around let me konw what you find, and i can give you more info on 'em. Good luck, and most importantly in golf, have fun!
awesome. I was actually looking at this set http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2....rod_id=1483856. Also, what kind of driver would you suggest? So far, the wooden ones seem to provide a biggest range. How about those drivers with big heads?
wow thats cheap, i think those will start ya off good, but it's all perference, you should go to the local driving range/pro shop if one's in your area and test acouple out and see what you like best, not us..
when i started in high school, i bought linx irons because i got a good deal, and some no name woods...i also used top flite *****...the ones that are bright neon colors..so i could find them in the rough...i also used gimmicky *****..i had liek 20 skoal *****...
i have since pretty much quit...i payed about every day in high school, and i was into the high 80s on the course that i played all the time, but after three years of not playing, i played once in college, shot a 50 or so on the front nine, and rode around and got drunk in the cart on the back nine.
my roommate then borrowed my clubs, lost one club, and ALL of my *****...[:@]

Well, i'm not a fan of graphite, but thats because i've always had a really fast swing. Its wierd because i'm not big, or really strong for that matter, but everytime i have my swing timed its around 114-119 mph. Average joe swing speed is around 104. So basically i have to stick to really stiff clubs. I suppose for a beginner set, those would work, as you won't be "swinging for the fences" right away. But if you want my 100% honest opinon, look into steel shafts, at least for your irons.
Drivers are a completely different story, its all preference. Some people like low profile clubs, some like the big monster nike ones that are about the size of my head. Me, i had one custom made. Cleveland Launcher head, stiffest shaft on the market, and a big puffy grip. I suggest maybe going to a "Golf Galaxy" or something liek that and trying out a couple different kinds, thats going to be your best bet in deciding what feels right to you.
i, on the other hand, never wanted to play golf, but many of my hockey teammates were into it, so i gave it a try, and i enjoyed it...when i was still worth a s*** on the course, my game was distance...but last time i played, i sucked....
