I've heard a lot of good things about Seafoam (the motor treatment stuff, dunno about their other products). Just wondered if anyone here has ever tried it.

Yes, that stuff is awesome. It is like an all purpose cleaner for your engine systems. Here are a couple of things that you can do with it to clean things out.

GREAT ENGINE CLEANING!! When you are ready to change the oil in your car buy one can of seafoam. Following the instructions on the can of seafoam, add the appropriate amount of cleaner to your old oil. Start the car and let it run for about 10 minutes, until it is nice and warm. Don't rev it up a lot while you are doing this. Drain the oil from your pan and leave your old filter in place. Fill it back up with some cheaper oil that you don't mind wasting. Repeat the process of warming the engine, only take it for a bit of a ride. A few miles should do. After all of this, proceed with your oil change as usual. I recommend using a Mobile 1 Synthetic unless you are in the process of breaking in a new motor. If you are in the process of breaking in a motor, DO NOT DO THIS!! You can do this about once every year and it will make for a very clean running engine. Remember kids, a clean engine is a happy engine!

Alternative fuel system cleaner. This will not increase your HP or your initial performance. The purpose is to do a very complete fuel system cleaning. Following the instructions on the can of seafoam, add the appropriate amount of cleaner to a full tank of gasoline. Run through the entire tank. Be reasonable, I don't mean run out of gas on the side of the road, just run until you almost reach empty. At this point, your fuel system is much cleaner. Fill up as usual. HP gains are possible here depending on how dirty your system is to start with.

There is also a cool trick that you can do to clean out all of that nasty carbon build up in your intake manifold. This is a bit more involved so if you want to know how to do that, just IM me and I will fill you in. Maybe I will write a thing on that too. We will see how much interest there is.

Peace.

Nick

Yep I like the stuff to. Just about to do it again before an oil change.
