I have played for the last few years, but never alot. I more recently got into it with some of my co workers. Plan on doing it alot more. Has anybody heard of Gigagolf.com? They seem to have pretty decent clubs and prices. As well as an awesome warranty. Also had my first Birdie yesterday on a par 4 hole. Pretty exciting. haha.

 

I golf, but not well, or frequently enough. But I can suck down beers and smoke cigars with the best of them.

For now, just get inexpensive clubs. Driver, 3 wood, a set of irons, pitching wedge, and a putter. In fact, I've seen some good deals on Craigslist and in pawn shops, too. I actually got my driver at K-Mart on a closeout sale for $15. I'm not good enough to see the performance difference between it and my father-in-law's Taylor Made driver, and I'm not as worried about breaking it.

 

I have an old set my brother have me. They are about 7 years old. But today i actually purchased a new set of irons for under 160 at gigagolf. They are supposed to be as good as high end clubs and have a lot of good reviews. I'm not great by any means either...

 

Ping isi bluedots, Ping G15 driver, old school Ping Ancer putter, Ping Eye2 persimmon fairway wood, Callaway bag. All that, and I sucketh. Golf truly is "A good walk spoiled".

 

I've been playing for the last 16 years or so. Used to be really good, but back then, I was able to play as many holes as I wanted, whenever I wanted, for free. Playing 72+ holes a week will make just about anyone good.

I still get out once or twice a week and typically shoot in the low-mid 80's.
