Sentras always have motor issues, they are very weak engine aparently and if you bag on them quite a bit they go [:'(]lol where as the Civic you could bag on all day long and it will be as reliable as the day you got it

Yea, I don't know much about Nissan's or their reliability.
The SI would be the safe bet.

The thing about Sentras is completely true. Although, I'm not sure that it applies to the new ones. Before I got my Civic, I had a few other choices, one of which was a Sentra SeR. All the research I did on that car led me to nothing but problems. If you drive them aggressively for an extended period of time, their intake manifolds have a tendancy to dump metal shavings into the cylinders. Look it up, it's pretty common.
