I'm betting that you'll have to reformat and reload the OS and programs as I said earlier, if you want that virus gone.

I did the temp filethingand deleted them all. I found a spyware program but that was it. I would have reformated a long time ago (because there isnt really anything on this notebook other than pictures) but I dont have a XP PRO SP2 cd. And they are like $300 and im not gonna do that. Here is a screen shot of one of the things i will pitch toward me. Look at the red x to see if any of you can identify it.

Remy, can you right click on that icon and access its properties? If so, look for a target file, or any file associated with that icon. Then use the Hex Editor i meantioned. I can send you the program if you can't find it, but i'm almost positive they have it at www.download.com. Good luck bro

Thanks for the input guys. But this is no internet problem. These pop ups are internal by far, even without the internet. [:@]

That the thing! I cant! It wont let me find any of it roots. this is the most difficult thing I have ever dealt with. BTW... just for future refernce forty, WinMX was on it an WAS that culprit of almost everything on that notebook accept a few random internet adwares.

Save yourself some valuable time and effort and just reformat. Like xe1002 said, it's always good to clean the junk off once in a while anyways, and make your computer run faster. (you could of had this solved by now)

Reformatting wipes EVERYTHING!!! If you wanna clean up junk XP has a clean up wizard to do that. And to make your HDD run faster DEFRAGMENT. less info has nothing to do with HDD speed.
