My father in law is a superintendant, someone moved out of an apartment, and he brought home this laptop. Man... so far i needed to order a charger which hasn't come yet, so i can't turn it on...

But the specs are just funny.

300mhz processor, 256mb ram(max is 512 for a 1998 laptop... not bad actually)

But for internet... no usb slots, no firewire(macs early attempt at USB) no airport slots...

only a measly 56k... going to try and mess around with it once it's up and running, but trying to gain some kind of wifi access with this thing..

Total HDD space is 8gbs... lol the iTouch is better than this thing, but still pretty cool if i get it running with internent access... it should hold firefox, like ten songs... and with that amount of ram if i boost to 512mb, i might be able to run both firefox and iTunes at the same time. hahaha.

What you guys think?

I used to run a linux desktop that had a 233mhz Pentium 2 in it. Whopping 256 mb ram. Did ok with internet. It still has the intrigue of being a laptop... and a mactop at that.

 

i dunno it would be easier just to buy a used laptop rather than fight with that lol. I bought a dual core 2gb ram 200gb hdd on craigslist for 200 bucks lol

 

Yeah, even the new ones. The small like 8"... they are kind of cool, and can almost fit in my pocket! lol

I spent a total of 8$ on this... might just put it up for sale... i see they still sell for like 330 or something... put for like 200 and it's gone.

 

don't buy the very small ones, they're awkward and internet is about all you can do in them. I've got a dell mini 9 and the damn thing is good for playing solitaire on. If you want a good small laptop get an MSI wind.

As far as this POS goes I'd recommend tossing it. It's not worth anything.
