my computer is 7 years old and still running strong (dual processor mac) but that's because i've taken care of it, just like i take care of my cars.
i'd have to bite the bullet and get a new computer from worst buy or circuit chitty because it would come with a warranty, or build one with parts that had warranties.

Hmm i may have found a bargain that i can't pass up, i know i said i wasn't going to get a dual core, but a coworker wants to get rid of his comptuer , and he has a dual core 2.8ghz, 320gb hard drive. with case and powersupply for $500. just cause he is going on vacation and needs the money lol

Am I missing smth? The mobo you posted is for AMD.
I have two ASUS mobos running for almost three years. The cheaper one never had a problem, the expensive one was once replaced under warranty - cost me one way shipping.

This was the processor i was looking at clicky, if i don't get the computer from the guy at work, he was selling it spur of the moment so he could have cash for his vacation, so i don't know if he will stil sell it when i have the money,

Ok So the first of many parts has been ordered. Mobo and CPU are on their way
this is the build up:
I will include the monitor that i just got as part of the build. and the build will be as followed.
Asus P5B Intel Socket 775 ATX Motherboard
Intel Pentium D 940 3.20GHz OEM Processor(came as a bundle with the motherboard)
at least 2GB DDR2 Dual-Channel RAM.
XFX GeForce 7900 GS Extreme (256MB)
500 Watt(maybe 600 watt) power supply
When all is said and done i will finally be able to play the games i love the way they were meant to be played, the built should take me about 4 more weeks from this friday cause i am going paycheque to paycheque for it
