Sounds like you fried your ram too.

 

Everything was fried, the only reason i am going with the Pentium D is cause it is included with the motherboard, once prices drop a bit on the dual cores i am gonna get one, i made sure the motherboard was compatable with it before i ordered it.

 

My Pc had the raid controller replaced twice...other than that it reliably ran for 5 years now...

 

If you like to play games, I would recommend AMD. You could get a 2.2Ghz dual core one for real cheap and overclock to a higher speed.

 

Too late already ordered. honestly outdated or not i don't care it is what i can afford right now and will do what i want it to

 

Itel out performs AMD in almost every aspect except professional video and image rendering - this category does not include video games. Stick with Intel.

 

Only true with the new Intel Core 2 Duo which is still quite expensive. Well, it doesnt matter that much since it's more than just the processor.

 

Yeah i am going to just use the Pentium D for a while till the Core 2 Duo's come down in price then i am gonna get one cause the motherboard i got is compatable with it. i may even get a Core 2 Extreme if i can afford it at the time cause it is compatable with it too
