So i was driving on the freeway making my way to In-N-Out today..lol
and as soon as i got on the freeway some white jeep in fron of me slammed on his breaks...I was like WTF! he slowed down to like 45..
and then i noticed a highway patrol unit on the side of the freeway. so i was like ok. then we got to a part where they are doing some construction work on the side of the freeway, (so they have the contruction barriers thing on the side of the freeway) and i start noticing the jeep just start getting close and closer to the barrier.. so then i start backing away from it, i put my emergency flashers on (in case i had to slam on my breaks).
The jeep's tires hit the side barrier and throws a piece of concrete towards me I run it over. i can just hear it bounce around under my car.

And as soon as it looked like he was gonna completely hit the barrier... he turns the other way and gets back in the lane. and just starts swerving all over the lanes, with cars next to him. so i tell my GF (who was ridding with me) to call the police to report him for drunk driving.
he gets off the freeway on the next exit and so i follow him.
he stops at a 7eleven and i stop across the street from it.
and we wait for the cops to show up.

i get off my car and check if anything happen.
i noticed paint scratched off underneath my bumper from the concrete i ran over...

LONG story short... he was under the influence of drugs..
so they took him and got him off the road.

a cop told me to inspect underneath my car and then tell my inssurance if it was needed...

BUT im not sure what i should do..
i havent gotten a chance to check underneath my car since it was dark already.
do you guys think its his fault?
i mean... it wasnt HIS CAR that hit me.. it was something HIS CAR made fly towards me.
Im not sure if there is anything i can do.

any advice would be appreciated.

If he hadn't hit the barrier your car wouldn't have been damaged. It's the same as a piart from his vehicle coming off and hitting your car; he's entirely responsible.

 

So i should definitely call up my inssurance and make a claim right?
Thats wat i thought. why spend my money on something that i didnt do.

But im just not sure how i would get proof of his tires hitting the barrier.

But i think im gonna go hit up my inssurance today and let them know.

Proof of his tires hitting the barrier? Scrapes on the sidewall of his tire... damage to your car... damage to barrier (idk how big the chunk of concrete was)

 

yeah there has to be rash marks on his sidewalls.

i just got done lifting and checking underneath for any dents or anything.
didnt see anything out of the ordinary. just normal scrapes from speedbumps and being lowered a little.

and also noticed that i need new tires very soon... the bump that i had on my sidewall seems to be bigger than i thought.

 

In Alabama, if a car causes an object to hit your car, then it is their fault.

Yeah i did a police report.

Yesterday i called my insurance and told them what happend.
they told me i'll be getting a call back from them monday or tuesday.

 

should have just stayed away from the guy. if i see anyone wandering in their lane. i slow down, and stay away. you had to have been fairly close for this to happen.

 

Yeah when i noticed him swerving i did slow down and put my flashers on, since i couldnt change lanes because there was cars on the lane next to me.

I wasnt close to him. the only time i did was because he slammed on his breaks after seeing the cop. and like 10 seconds later, his on the barrier.
