I was just watchin the weather channel and they were making a fuss about a heavy snow alert because the south was expecting 3-5 inches.:D

3-5 inches is barely justification to plow the roads around here.

We don't have the equipment to handle the snow like the north does, so 5" is a big deal for us.

I have an old saying for Memphis, it doesn't snow in hell

Also around here the roads and landscape is very very different than 95% of the north. I live in the middle of the largest mountain range in the eastern half of the U.S. so anything over about 5 inchs makes it very hard to get around in.

Yeah, I'm originally from the middle of the Catskill Mountains and live up a good sized hill with steep/poorly maintained roads so I feel ya. Around here in Rochester the biggest hills are the snow banks though, which does make it a little easier.
