yeah, they are all pretty bad, but the ones in the 5th gens are just a tease. you cant even stick a 20oz bottle of dew in there. oh a 32oz Taco Bell cup will fit, but thats too damn top heavy. it never ends well, except for cans. im gonna start calling them "can holders" because they dont hold many cups worth a damn.

ah i got the after market armrest with the cupholder in the storage part that flips up. I dont like when people drink in my car, in fact I don't let anyone do it. But every now and then i sneak a coffee in the morning for myself. BUT the damn cup is where my elbow should be! ive hit it so many times with my elbow, and once the storage cover fell down on it and some spilled so i had to clean it all out. yeah terrible engineering on their part [:@] but that hot blond holding my drink sounds like a good cupholder replacement :D

I woundnt say that i have that problem, its illegal to drink or eat at the wheel of a car here. a rather large fine is give out if u r court, so i dont bother, anyway the smell of food and drink the car spoils it if u ask me.

it works if you get a beverage in a bottle and lay it on in between the e-brake and your seat, it stays solidly in place, but that doesnt cure the fountain soda or can problem.

hell yeah. ive done that a lot too. and if you drink about half first, a can will work there too, just not for "spirited" driving.
