i dont know how accurate they are, but they seem to be consistent at least. so you can at least get before and after measures for mods. thats what im doing with my next phase of mods, so hopefully i can have some numbers on how effective the parts were. and you can get the low-end ones on ebay for CHEAP. though i think Beltronics makes a better one, its like 3-500 bucks.

G-TEch has done a lot of testing wit these and supposedly even the older ones are going to be within a tenth and a mph on1/4 mile runs and +/- 1% on the Hp.

They work by something called an accelerometer. It kinda like a sidways thermometer. It's a super thin glass tube filled with mercury (I think). If you tilt the tube on way or the other, obviously more liquid is going to go to that side, and with varying intensities (see: things at rest tend to stay at rest).

The new ones can atually calculate torque and therefore give you your perfect shift points. If you go to their site, they have a video of someone making a 1/4 mile run on the track wih a g-Tech on the windshield and they matched exactly.

Go here: G-Tech Pro and click on the appropriate reolution to the right.

Is that G-Tech thing still getting passed around Sniper? How much did you pay for it? I may need one before I try and piece together my turbo!

Yeah, it's still getting around. Kolhoznik has it now. I dunno where it is going next.

I got it for ~ 30 bucks on e-bay. It's not the new fangled one but it will at the very least give you some precise (repeatable) feedback.
