last summer i was sitting at an intersection waiting to turn left onto a 4 lane road, behind someone in a minivan, who i could see in their sideview mirror that she was talking on the phone. i was on my way to work, around 715 in the morning... we finally got the green, and she didnt move at all..so i beeped and she looked in her mirror, then casually made her way through the intersection...as the second car in line, i went through under the yellow light. when she was fully through the intersection she established herself in the left lane, so i went into the right lane, and as i began to pass her, she swerved over, so i swerved back into the left lane and downshifted and tore past her...as soon as i cleared her, i saw a car sitting on the four lane road going the same direction as me began to flip his headlights...i could tell from the car that it was an undercover statey...nuts...so i just pulled over and waited for him. he comes flying up behind me, almost sliding to a stop..he fixes his tough guy hat, and stomps his fast *** up alongside my car and says "what the hell is wrong with you, do you think that youre tough or something?"..i just replied with "i dont know what you mean sir"...and he said to me "listen punk, you can play dumb and i can drag you out of the car right now, or you can tell me that youre sorry for driving like an @$$hole and you can go on your merry way."...
as i was already late for work, i smiled and said "im sorry for driving like an @$$hole"..he replied with "SIR"...i said sorry...and he said "say it"...so i said "sir"...then he lectured me about how "you dumbass kids (i was 25) watch that movie about racing in your little imports and then you all think that you can drive like that and risk peoples lives"...and he ended with "go tell your little friends that you got lucky today"...and he walked back to his car...

my point is that dicks like the guy who pulled me over are the reason that alot of people, like myself who have only ever seen the worthless side of police, dont care for them as a whole...like where was officer tough guy when my dads shop got robbed, and it took them TWO hours to show up afterwards...probably sitting stuffing his fatass full of donuts...but at the same time people who do stupid things as stated in post 1 here i suppose are why some cops become dicks.

Seriously though, there are exceptions to every rule, and there are some sh*tty cops out there. I would never defend anything that is blatently out of line, as that Trooper was with you.

When you ban someone or lock a thread, how does it make you feel. I'd bet sometimes you hate having to deal with dumb people who can't follow simple rules, and sometimes you even enjoy enforcing them. It is the same with any position of authority...period.

What distinguishes a good cop from a bad one (IMO) are honesty, priorities, concern for others, and an open mind. Courage and common sense don't hurt either. All the same traits of a quality human being.

 

i have alot of forums, and most of them are no where as smooth as this forum (usually) is...so here, my banning people and locking threads has only seemed to occur in the last 2 or so months...but that comes with the territory as forums grow...and trolls will happen. i have seen people post things like:
"i was considering a civic, and seeing how this community operates, and how helpful they are, it secured my thoughts of buying a civic"...

i think that this is a tremendous complement to a forum and this is how i want things to stay,....this forum has a great variety of people who can help out with things from everyday life, to computer issues, to car problems, both civic and nonner..on the other hand one of my other forums is the exact opposite..

an acquaintance of mine was looking into buying a car which applies to this given forum, and he sent me an email that said "after spending a few weeks at that forum, i seriously doubt that i will buy that car, because i woudl never want to be associated with the type of people who belong to that forum, as well as a few others that i checked out"...

i do not want HCF to ever turn into that type of forum, and with the help of remmy, and our wonderful mods, we will do what we have to in order to keep this forum running smooth and friendly.

and i like bearclaws quite a bit...

 

Right on. I don't know how we got to the sanctity of the forum and the moderators, but I agree with everything you just said. I love it here, and you guys do excellent work.

*Actually, on the rare occasion I comsume a donut, I prefer maple bars...bear-claw sounded funnier to me (more coppish)!

 

That was sort of like when your at a club and the cops come in and everyones like hey what just happened.The x-cop and dad just had a very intelgent conversation.Some people think that cops are so bad but alot of my dads custmers are cops and there just like anyone else if you are normal and not strungout on alcholish there cool the people you have to kiss *** to is the judge.There is this guy he loitered money from people and was kicked off the force another officer had said he had done it but was covering for her husband it took his job now it like he is career less so be careful we all make mistakes.IT will be returned.

You deserve to be in jail and certainly do not belong behind the wheel of a car. If your typing "skillz" lend any kind of a hint as to the abilities you have behind the wheel of a car then you would best be suited riding a mountain bike. A cop is never "off duty" he may not be on the clock but being a hero, saving lives, and looking out for the community kinda takes a certain kind of person that cares for others and you do not turn that off with a clock out slip. 80 in a 45 wow.....what a man, passing on the shoulder.......ummm ok, talking **** to a man looking out for his two children and that serves the community putting his life at risk to keep it safe. I have to say you are a P.O.S. dirtbag, the roadway is not a racetrack, you are not an Andretti(sp?), and your civic is a econo 4 banger not a flipping F1 car. Get a life dude for real.

I am about betting this is all BS to tell the truth, I say you scan a copy of your ticket, blank out any names and addy's as needed, and post it here. Seriously, This is such a BS Story, The cop turned his car around to hide the camera? You know they can turn them off as they choose........the camera goes on when the light bar is activated. Im not sure why you would make this story up, and i really hope you dont drive like that, because you wont be around to post much longer, youll be in a body bag. Use your head. I love it how you talk smack about the cops, but the second your car gets stolen or something else like that happens to you, who are you going to call? Yea thats what i thought.

Thats totally different, See I BELIEVE that story, and of course there are some jerk-off cops out there, but usually around here if you are respectful, it will get u out of it. 95civicus' behavior was just unacceptable, and if that happened, he would have been arrested for assulting an officer.
