guess what i got to drive today
my grandmas....

2006 Cadillac SRX
now...let me tell you...i only got to drive this by pure chance. see the tie bars in my moms 2005 Chrysler Town&Country were about to give when she took it in for a tune up. so they said they had to keep it or we risked loosing alignment and imminent accident. well my grandma is in naples florida for the winter/spring...so she said my mom could use this. fantastic! guess who got to drive it home after my mom picked me up from a jazz band practice? (my dad is using the jimmy until april...he doesnt like bringing out the RX7 for a while)
i know it looks like an SUV and its classified as one, but it drives like a car. and a friggen nice one at that. its so smooth i was up at 50 in a 35 and didnt even notice until i looked at the spedo. turning is a snap...accelerated around a right turn from a stop light and was at 35 before the wheels were straightened. a little bit of body roll...but WAAAY less than any SUV ive ever driven before. it was almost freaky how smooth it was...because after a while i realized i could get my speed up and not even notice. so i started worrying i was going to misjudge distances and stuff and wreck my grandmas new caddy (fortunately enough i didnt). as you would expect, its a slushbox transmission, but it has a Manumatic option (i didnt get to try it tho). there are, however, some downsides. you cant see the nose of the car AT ALL, which i really do not like. even if you streatch until your head is touching the cealing, you can barely see it. i dont like that but it might not bother any of you guys. also...the A and B pillars are very cumbersome. the A pillar actually sticks out in front of the windshield 2 or 3 inches. its really annoying. the B piller is more than 6 inches thick. that was the one thing i didnt like about this thing...the visibility. other than that it was great. id give it an 8.5 out of 10...it would have gotten a 9 if it was actually a little less smooth and it actually felt like a vehicle. it kinda felt like you were floating and it made for some really weird judgement. i'll post up some more pics.
