Ive used some of them. For some of the more expensive purchases...buy the warranty for a few extra bucks just in case. Things like pliers and commonly used things may not last super long, but for the most part...Ive heard good stuff about HF for their price

ya i mean $6 for a 5 pc pliers set is great, that set has lifetime warranty too. for the other stuff, if something breaks its not a big loss. i take good care of my tools anyways so hopefully they'll last atleast for a few months lol.

how do u buy their warranty?

RE: habor freight tools

Well usually when you check out they ask if you want a warranty. I believe they have 3month, 1 yr and 2 yr

For what they cost, they're excellent for certain jobs. Like giant socket set and all kinds of other tools that do the job and last a while.

Some people slam them and call it all cheapdrop-forged junk from China...

But I am of the mind that they are perfectly fine tools if you arent a professional mechanic working 6 days a week...:),,,if they get the job done and dont cost more than they have to, thats good enough for me...

I was looking at some expensive drills like Dewalt and Milwaukee, etc...my neighbor just finished doing some serious house work (redid his entire first floor basically - plumbing, elec, and moved the walls) so I asked him what drill he used...He used a $25 drill from PrincessAuto (same as HF but in Canada) and said it worked perfectly fine...

So instead of spending $45 on one KleinTools plier you spend $6 and get a 5 piece set from China...they both get the job done for what you are doing and you can spend your money elsewhere...making these tools isnt rocket science, you sacrifice the quality and craftsmanship you may not need, like buying a Timex instead of a Rolex, classic example...and if these cheaper tools break its no big loss, as other people have mentioned they have a warranty...worst case is they break in few months/years and you buy something better, as you need it...

harbor freight supplies alot of my tools. i have a mixture of snap on, matco, cornwell, and harbor freight. each brand has their ups and downs, i personally use harbor freight for there impact sockets and misc items i really dont care about. if they break they break, after all it is fairly cheap from hf.

I have a cut off tool from Harbor Freight. It doesn't cut that well. Most of the jobs that take me 20 min to cut with the Harbor Freight tool would probably take me 5-10 min with a better quality tool. I got it for $15 (with a disk) which was a damn good deal as a Craftsman tool would run me at least $45. I'd definatly buy it from there again. Harbor Freight is good for those obscure tools you use every once in a while. For basic hand tools that are going to be used often and abused, go with something like Craftsman that has a good warranty but is much less expensive than the big names.

i wouldn't buy anything from them. not happy with their products that i did buy. it's all made in china, and if you watch or read the news even a little bit you have probably already heard about the ****y stuff that they have been producing to generate their economic growth. everything from kids toys and tires to food and medication has had recalls. remember, you get what u pay for. it might caust more up front for craftsmen or husky, but if it breaks, most of their stuff has a lifetime warranty.
