Default How much would you pay for this car? Need advice.

I think I found the car I want to get. Its in florida. It has 1 small dent above the honda symbol on the hood and a few nicks here and their. No problems otherwise.
Tires are good and paint is shiny.
109,000+ miles on it and its a auto. No spoiler on it. Its a 2001 civic ex coupe.

He said he would sell it to me for 6500 bucks. I saw a few others go but the reserve wasnt met for a little more and they didnt have scratches. KBB says even the poor value on this car is about 7000 and the good is 8000 and the excellent is 9000!

Thing is I either have to drive 12 hours from my home to go get it or pay 1000 bucks to get it shipped to me and it will take 10 days to get it to me.
If we drove down their it would only cost about 350 bucks counting a room if we spent the night to go get it.
Think the car is worth it?

I think it's worth it...and I think you can find a cheap flight, go down there, get some rest and pull an overnighter with the car home.

I would say its worth it. Some people just sell theor vehicles beloow KBB price to just get rid of their cars. As far as traveling goes its your call. Whatever is more convinient for you.

Well we can save even more money by taking our dually truck down their and renting a dolly and haul the car back.
Now the big question should I wait for the auction to end or take him up on his offer. I was thinking of asking for 6000 or maybe just lower than 6500 since I saw a few on ebay go but the reserve was not met for about 6900 and they were closer to me.

If you are planning on any real modding I would go for a 88 to 00 civic.

I wont be doing any modding other than maybe a set of rims and a couple of performance increasers like a air filter and such.
I want the 01 because of the new body style. Just looking for a good car to drive.

That's a worthy price. I'd go for it.

yeah sounds like a good deal, but you never know until you see it for yourself and actually drive it.

Well this is a deal with 100 feedback on ebay for selling CARS not just buying stuff and this is his first car deal..
I would hope its a good one because it is 12 hours from my house.
Im really thinking of trying to get this if I can get the loan worked out. My local bank wants 8.25% interrest! Im going to try and find something that is cheaper like maybe a good credit card.

I picked up my car for 6800 last year at an Acura dealership. Its an 01 EX, came lowered, with rims, and 92K miles. It was in immaculate condition, well taken care of and all highway miles. Now that was last year so the value should have declined. I got offered 9k for it the week after i got it so i think it was a great deal. but 6500 should be a good deal, i'd say do it but i wish i would have gotten a 00 SI.
