Ignorant Question..
Somebody at my school was talking about a vtec controller, but I didn't get a chance to ask him exactly what it was and how it worked. Are they worth it? On ebay they sell for like 50 dollars but feel ignorant because I have never heard of this before?

RE: Ignorant Question..
IMO, they are pointless. but its just me.

RE: Ignorant Question..
So they don't add any hp or anything?
|
RE: Ignorant Question..
i think it just controls what RPM the VTEC kicks in at. There mgiht be some advantage to it.

RE: Ignorant Question..
I think it would just be better to leave it where the factory left it on, but hey maybe there might be some advantages to changing it.
|
RE: Ignorant Question..
if you have like i/h/e with some cams and intake/throttle body it would be worth it because the power curve has changed and you have to change the vtec with it to get the most power

RE: Ignorant Question..
it would give a decent gain on a pretty modified engine, but for real gaines ud have to dyno tune it to see where u can adjust the a/f maps.......and dyno tuning is more than 50$ lol.

ORIGINAL: Pete .......and dyno tuning is more than 50$ lol. Oh well I wont mess with it then. |
RE: Ignorant Question..
Yeah, like they said. Unless your curve is MUCH different from stock, your VTEC point is already at its optimal position.
