I was just wondering if this same type of thinking is everywhere or just my city. If someone mentions you have a nice car, the first thing they ask is if you got a system. Not exhuast, intake, nos, turbo, etc. Our city just cares about audio. Don't get me wrong, I like bass just as much as the other guy; but not so friggin loud that you can't hear it over the trunk rattle( which seems to describe over half of the cars with systems here). And most of the cars that do this, are the biggest pieces of crap I have ever laid eyes on. They will spend more for a system than they paid for their car.
Also, people constantly tell me that I need to get a bigger muffler tip than my stock one. WTF! I plan on getting a cat-back soon, not a fake piece of rice. And speaking of rice! In our automechanics class in school, a chevy Beretta pulled in. It had a CARBON-FIBER muffler! And, prepare yourself, flames going down the side, which were drawn on with a magic marker. Yes, it is true.
Just wondering If any other town is like this or just my crap area.

 

Unfortunately there is garbage like this everywhere. Or at least i know we have plenty of guys like that around here.

 

You got the asses that drive nice cars in ur automechanics class? I sure as hell do. And next time some1 says system ask them "ignition system? Fuel system? A/C system?"

 

Yeah the first thing that is mentioned most of the time in my town is audio system. There is a boatload of cars that are crappy and have LOUD trunk rattling systems (normally just some punk with subs and no internal speakers) so it's just sh*tty bass; no respect for those people. There is also a lot of real nice cars with the same sh*tty audio systems. But I have gotten many people ask what kind of exhaust system I have; so it reinforces the idea that there are actual tuners like us out there.

Lol! I'll have to remember that. But no unfortunaly all the people in my class are like that.

 

Actually the asses with the nice cars are really annoying, because they THINK they know everything there is to know about cars. But in actuality they are failing auto (along with other classes) and they actually know nothing (or very little) about cars. This may actually worse than the ppl who have stupid loud stereos. I got a few dumbasses in my class.

 

Haha yea its like that where I live too. Most of my friends have nice systems that they put in their nice car..but a lot of ppl I see around town are like that. My friends boyfriend spent 500 bucks on an old cuttie..and put a $2k system in it. And mostly all u hear is the rattle. Stupidd.

 

a few years ago around here they passed a law for loud stereos--$100 if u get caught[sm=smiley32.gif]

I haven't run into that around here yet. Everyone in my town seems to be either obsessed with speed....or a ricer. I go to the lots on the weekends, usually one half is covered in turbo'ed, blown, sub 13 second cars. The other half, is your everyday cavalier with a park bench on the trunk. And for whatever reason those guys seem to think its funny to ask "you gotta hemi in there?" Talk about obnoxious.. The speed freaks are all pretty cool, with a few exceptions.
