lincoln town car

so my friend drives a 95 lincoln town car. i got home from my backpacking trip and like two hours later he shows up on my doorstep in his dads bimmer and is like 'dude did you hear what happened to my car?'

well apparently its been raining here a lot (yeah...michigan sucks) and he drove through what looked like a small puddle...turned out to be a pothole. hydro lock to the max. from the looks of it im guessing blown head gasket or two, a couple shot rods, a hole through the oil pan, and maybe one through a piston (since theres oil coming out from one of the heads). if he lets me take it apart...i'll take some pictures. he says he'll prolly just sell it and get like a mark VIII (my suggestion) instead of messing with it any.

How does hitting pothole = blown motor?

small looking puddle + deep pothole = lots of water

and a cylinder trying to compress that water that was sucked in instead of air. yeah, water doesnt compress. its a great way to ventilate a block in a hurry.

actually, there is probably a rod smashed through the side of the block, holding the engine from rotating. just a guess though.

Still doesn't make sense unless the water was up to the air intake.
