MBrent's too many Hondas dilemma
I will keep a lookout mitch. I found a 1982 200sx. Its white, old, and groovy. But.... its an automatic. Theses cars are so rare and unloved. I will never find pedals.for a five speed swap, or any glass or trim. Its only 500 bones and runs well, but its too risky. Back to square one....
Do you have a plan for racing the DA or just plan on throwing money at it with suspension stuff? Meaning, do you know what kind of racing? Are you actually going to race it? If so, you have to pick a class to run in so a lot of those mods you have in your head may not be an option. Of course there is the immense expense that comes with racing... entry fees, tires, brakes, constant maintenance, safety equipment which can get very expensive, and of course the high possibility of going out on the track and never running the car again if you wreck it.
The track that I supervise at hosts numerous "track days" throughout the year. Track day car is feasible. "Race car", not so much. I am an ALSCCA member, but I'm not particularly interested in conforming to numerous rules and such. Passing tech is the only thing I want to worry about.
