So what do you do at the shop lilo? Are you an installer, salesperson, or somewhere inbetween? Any of us guys would love to have a job like your in now <IMG src=smileys/smiley14.gif border="0"></P>

im there only drivetrain performance tech. everything from basic bolt ons all the way to engine building. ive been trying to land this job for 3 years and i finaly made it. as far as pay, im flat rate. but i dont work for anyone i work with them so i get half of the hourly charge which is dependant on the work and whos work i am doing. sponsered car club rate is $40 hr labor and some one off the street will pay $55hr labor.<edited><editID>lilol89crx</editID><editDate>38108.9603819444</editDate></edited>

it took me 3 years to get into a performance shop.....learn while you can and keep trying and you may find one that will let you in

i attended universal tech inst. you dont have to go to college but it looks good on a resume. college wont teach you what works with what and things of that nature. there is far more to learn online as well as hanging around the local import and domestic shops.

the only reason y i got into ashop is because i know the guys that own the shop and i told him that i wanted to learn and thati am very trust worthy and plus i have known him for like 4 or 5 years
