Default Not Guilty!

Does anyone know how this will work? I had my hatch stolen from me in June, and just lately have recieved a notice of a court date as the vehicle was parked in a bus lane. Problem is the theifs left the vehicle there after joy riding. Will my insurance be able to get this cleared up without me having to go to court (I am not guilty either way) ? Court date is Sept.22/08 Anyone ever have this hapen to them and if I were guilty how does this work, does it go on my record if it was actual and could not be cleared?

wow man that sucks... i think if you went to court they would see you were obviously not guilty, i would call your insurance company and ask them though to see what they suggest.

They should be able to clear it up without you having to appear. I know for a buddy of mine, they were able to fax a letter over the clerk and clear everything up that afternoon. Just call your I.Comp. and they will know just what to do for your state and all.

Good luck!

I just want my damn car back, as of the 17th of Aug. it has been 2 months since it was stolen! I think it has some damage on it though as it was at apple auto body or something like that. Thanks guys for the advice

ya that sucks im not sure how that will work... but IMO the tow company should have ran the vin or plate info and found out it was stolen and then contacted you to pick your car up after the police inspect it or what not!
i hope they dont try screwing you over to pay the towing lot charges or other BS!!!!!
but with the insurance company...... it doesnt matter if your insurance lady is gone its the same freaken company so the on duty lady needs to get off her @ss and look this crap up! thats what shes geting paid for! shes suposed to cover the other agents problems while they are on vacation!!!!!!!

needless to say you need to get your car back ASAP! not all parking lots are safe parking. hell the towing company i bought my silver civic from has a simply gated lot with every car with all the keys in these cars all unlocked! talk about a theives dream!!!! even i thought about going back and climbing the fence.LOL
hell they could even be using your car as a parts car to fix other vehicles! ive heard of it happening before....
needless to say get back on the phone or BETTER pop up in person monday at the insurance place tell them where the car is at and that you want your car today! or you want a pay out for the car!
i know id be pissed off if im paying for car insurance from a insurance company that doesnt give a dam! what the hell we paying them for dam it!

Ill give them a call monday and see what's going on with it and when I can get it back, it is crap really now that I think about it. As far as towing and impound charges, I believe they were cleared when the vehicle was removed by the insurance adjuster as the only notice I recieved yet is for a $50 bus lane ticket that I will court for. Ya now i am mad paying 2 months insurance without the car in my possesion. Although if there is damage (steering column will be for sure) are they aloud to keep the vehicle to repair?

no one should be able to touch the car until you ok it with the insurance pay out/repair estimate. you should be able to get your car back AS-IS if they have already looked at the car!
my brother had his car stolen/joyrided and the cops gave him a call when they got the car to come pick it up and we drove it home and then called the insurance company and he kept driving it as-busted up till he got a new car and even sold it busted after collecting the cash for the theft.LOL

lol ^^ good idea. ya ill probally keep it for another year anyways, I wish it had ac, but our really hot weather should only last another month or two, then it will start to cool down a bit for fall, and before I know it Ill have the heat cranked in the winter, plus I really like where my stereo setup was with this car it makes trips/drives fun!
