the guy that was hit died...this was obviously big news on my bike sites...that guy DID mean to do that...his reason was "because i hate bikers"..little did he know, they werent bikers, they were actors filming a movie or tv show...something...but the guy that was thrown was evidently famous in mexico, and died.

that makes me sick. i think his punishment should be to get on a bike and go riding down the highway while someone comes up behind him and hits him like he did to those guys.

That's why I hate people who feel they can take their anger out on others and kill them. What a ***** way to show someone off. I'd like to meet that fu**in SOB and give them a piece of my mind. I hope, no pray that that person was executed in a severely painful fashion.

This would be a lame argument to support your reasoning. On the contrary, the director of operations at my work has been riding for 30 years and has never gone down. The chances of getting killed on a bike are far greater, don't get me wrong, but do you really feel the tin on our civics is going to do us much better?

actually, yes, i do. simple physics. KE = 1/2mv squared, m being mass, v being velocity/speed. i'm 135 lbs, if i'm going 55mph, that would be a phenomal amount of force at which i would hit the ground. also, my civic has four wheels, so if i hit something in the road, like a bump or a piece of trash, i'm not going to lose control of my car. the extra two wheels also help during crappy weather when the roads are wet and slick, or in dry weather when the roads have gravel or sand on them. cars do slide in these conditions, but only if all four tires have lost traction. not to mention the fact that in a rear-end collision, people don't typically fly 15-20 feet in the air from their car. also, cars have seat belts, airbags, headrests, and crumple zones. so yeah, i do feel a lot safer in my civic than if i were on a bike.
