Default which Radar Detector

Both of these are in my budget so I need to know should I buy a Beltronic's V995 or Escort Passport 8500?

Are you saying you've never driven above the posted limit?

On topic- Radar detectors suck. Countless false alarms, and when you really do need it it's too late. Plus they clutter up your interior. So if you really want one go with the cheaper one.

IMO radar detectors are crap. Just learn to watch the road. I only ever got 1 ticket... over 2 years ago, and I've learned my lesson (to watch for police ). I still speed though.. lol

well older radar detectors are crappier....

and with new ones they have the new radar detecting... like POP feature. ive heard thats a new radar to get people that older or cheap radar detectors wont detect till its to late....

and some of the new detectors have a GPS feature to eliminate most false alerts. which is very cool..... it ignores that detected signal at that location. pretty nice option IMO. tho i dont have a new one yet i want one buy dont want to spend freaken 3-500bucks for one!

i want a radar detector that has some kind of output so i can silent my radio when it gets set off

you can keep an eye out all day long that still isnt fool proof... cops get sneaky... there is bike cops and they hide in the dark shaddows at night....
trying seeing them!!!!!!!! at least a radar will go off to MAYBE warm ya. but it all depends if the cop just keeps his radar gun ON... cause if he waits till ya get close enough and then turns it on YOUR STILL SCREWED..

i dont trust those radar things that say WELL EVEN PAY YOUR TICKET... i dont believe that sh**!!!!!!!

use your best judgement... it wont always save your @ss but typicaly first time it goes off and you slow down in time it can pay for itself. 2 ways.... one the ticket... second insurance rates.

LOL! A Civic would look pretty silly with a CB antenna on it.Plus, truckers can only help if you're on the highway, not on backroads and in the city.

Most likely the're not using radar in the city and back roads.....and no detector will save you from accutrack and vascar
