I doing an english report on Ernest Hemingway's use of symbolism. Does anyone know what significance the number 84 has in the bible? I need answers quick. Useful replies are greatly appriectiated.

Could it have to do with numerology? I know that 7 and 12 are considered "holy numbers" in the bible. The numbers reoccur in different ways throughout the book. For example, the world was created in 7 days... There were 12 disciples... There's others, can't think of them.

Anyway, 7 x 12 = 84. Not sure if that's it, but maybe that can help your research.

You could also say that in numerology 84=3 ( 8+4=12, 1+2=3) and 3 could represent the trinity. Don't know if thats what your lookin for too, but there you go.
