Default Street legal horse power?

Hey i was talkin with this guy at my job and he told me that there is a certin amount of horsepower vs cylinders that you can have in a car before it becomes an illegal. He was sayin how there is a wrx i forget which model that has over 350 hp stock and its not street legal. is there any truth to what he said because thats the first time ive ever heard any mess like that. I know in the featured import mag there are cars that are pushin over 400 hp and they are a daily driver so whats up with that.

Yea that's B. S. Look at all the cars on the road that have over 350 hp. Vipers, Corvettes and even some SUV's. S/C Mustangs and F150's have 390 hp.

That's not his question. The mechanic stated to him that there can be only so much hp for (x) cylinders. The mechanic is saying that the WRX (4 cylinder as we all know) with 350 hp is NOT street legal. I doubt this hp for every cylinder legality bit is true but my question to your mechanic is where has he heard of a 350 hp stock WRX? Last I read the STi was top gun with 300.

SO TRUE! My coworker's roommate yelled out "Bacon!" to a cop they passed when he was drunk and the cop went from failing to use turn signals, to broken tail light, to broken license plate display lights. As he handed him the ticket he said, "And oh yeah, I don't appreciate your degrading comments evening. Have a swell night."

I've never heard of the HP per # of cylinder thing either. It's a bunch of BS!
