Default too dark!!!

this is bs! im not 16 yet....( 3 months ) we bought the car about 3 months ago and got stopped about a week ago because the tint was too dark. it was 15% in the back and 18 in the front. the officer wanted to give us a $160 ticket but my mom said we just got the car and didnt know. so he let us off and told us that we had a week to get it off. well, i WAS saving for some stuff for my car, well i had to pay for the people to strip it off and re-tint. all together - $250!!!! now my tint is 30%. id rather have it what it was, but oh well. 30 is the lowest we can go LEGALLY here in bama.

i thot you were older than that. well...that really sucks. here you cant have tint in the front windows here, but they dont care how dark the back is.

bummer. its 50% here in minnesota last i was told. i know tons of people who have it like 35 or darker and only one has gotten a ticket. ive been saving up to get my fronts tinted further. cause they are 60 i think and its hardly anything when its bright out. but the rear sides and back are at 5. i think. i cant remeber its been a while. best advice - just keep the windows down.

i hate cops like that. i got harassed several days after having 5% put on my car. i've kept it though. the chances of running into the same cop around here is pretty slim. also, a little trick a lot of people use is tinting the back windows ultra dark, and using legal tint on the roll-down windows, since those are the only ones the meter can test.

i'm also pretty sure that tint comes in three percentages: 35, 20 and 5 percent. although, crappy tint tends to fade and seem a lot lighter.

in Maryland its 35% for cars but the back windows of trucks or SUV's can be as dark as you want

where in alabama do you live? (i live just north of birmingham) i have my windows 20% in the back and 32 in the front. the windows in the back don't matter, its just the front tint that matters, really. also, you could have saved yourself a lot of money if you had stripped the tint off yourself.

he could have, but again, it depends on the tint. cheaper brands leave a lot more adhesive behind and take a lot longer to remove. plus, back windows can be really tricky with the defroster lines. if the adhesive isn't softened enough, it will rip the coating off the defroster lines and then they don't work anymore.

well the guy said that he would still charge the same amount if i didnt get every bit of the sticky off...so i just payed for it. he told us it was a pain to get it off too so i guess its good i didnt do it myself. the cop said that all of mine were illegal. 32% all around is what is legal. the back matters too according to the cop and the sheet he gave us. so really, my windows are still 2% too dark. oh well...i live in montevallo baker. about 15 mins away from calera...u should know where that is if not montevallo. all montevallo has is the university but calera is growing rappidly.
