TOP GEAR HAMMOND CRITICAL IN JET CAR CRASH
 

Top gear presenter Richard Hammond is critically ill in hospital after crashing a jet car at 280mph while filming for the new series. It happend about 6:00pm UK time so about 3 hours ago. That is all I know at the moment, the news will have an update later on tonight.

wtf what type of car would have a jet engine in it. And wow hopefully he does alright.

Wow. I hope he gets better. The show wouldn't be the same without him. I'm gonna check BBC for any updates. Thanks for the info

Oh **** man, i hope he pulls through ok, the show just wouldn't be the same at all without him, i will have to keep an eye out for this

I just heard about this on another forum. Going for some land speed record. Last run of the day. 280MPH. parachute deployed and car swerved off track and rolled.

I really hope he makes it. Show wouldnt be the same without him

UPDATE..Doctors have now confirmed that his condition is stable which is good news. Some of the newspapers over here are saying that he was traveling more like 315mph when the jet powered dragster flipped into the air.
Ive seen some of the pics from the airfield and it looks like one bad crash, bits of car everywhere and its resting place is a long way from the track.
