what do YOU consider a "Ricer?"

I have never really heard anyone definition of this, so im curious to hear if it varies from person to person, or a "ricer" is something that everyone specifies as the same thing. :)

Ricers have some stuff in common but some are up to what others think. Body kits, two tone paint jobs, non functional hood scoops, altezza taillights, stickers and graphics all over the car, book shelf/ park bench spoilers, cannon exhaust, underglows, lambo doors, cut springs, incorrect badging or pretty much anything that is obnoxious and over done

We usually close these type of threads because it usually only gets negative, but I will leave this thread open as long as there is no fighting. If someone comes on here and starts calling someone a ricer, the thread will be closed. Innocent discussion will be tolerated.
(other staff members might do differently though, that is up to them)

Being a ricer can also be a mentality... people who think their car is the fastest thing on earth, even when it's slow, and then proceed to act like assholes about it... trying to race people all the time (especially when they try to race someone who is not interested in doing so), weaving through traffic, driving like an asshole in general.

Another common thing a ricer does is they install all really cheap crappy parts because they don't care how crappy they make their car. Also, some ricers pay people to install all of their car parts because they don't know anything but then proceed to act like they know everything.

Also, ricers are typically horrible drivers.

Being a ricer means you drive a del slow and your username is trustdestruction.

Loooooooooooooove you, trust :D

But yeah, pretty much what trust said.

Ricer - having a horribly ostentatious car, usually with a vibrant and tacky paint job. body kits, excess aftermarket lighting, and huge wheels is commonplace. Also, it refers to a "my economy car is a race car and I'll drive it as such" or a "yeah, I have a stock cavalier, but I bet it's fast enough to beat a mustang cobra" mentality.

To me, a ricer tries to do everything he can to his car to make his car fast looking, and in his own convoluted logic, make him look cool. He weaves through traffic, tailgates anyone in front of him, floor it as soon as the light turns green, and goes out of his way to be an asshole. They always have to be first, or a douche when they can't be first. All of them, to me, seem to have low self esteem, but they think the fact that they have a fast car justifies their existence. Its kinda sad really.

I think trust was pretty much spot on. Its not just about the looks of your car but your attitude as well.

reaper2022 May 19, 2010 07:12 AM

Don't forget the vortex generators and sport seats in my car, stu :D

And for the record, I don't rice cars out. I hard-park them like a mofo :D

I just saw this on Clubintegra, funny that we are having a convo about it as well. Also, +1 to the mindset/way of thinking thing that trust and others mention.

Rule of thumb: If it doesn't make you faster, safer, or more comfy then it doesn't belong on your car.
