I agree. I can't stand watching nascar, but I have to say that those are some awesomely engineered machines. I got to tour one of the facilities where they build a couple of the nascar cars and engines, and I was totally amazed. They've got huge garages the size of airplane hangars that are completely filled with cars. There are actually only like 3 or 4 cars in there but they've got about 50 copies of each car. And they've got all of the super high tech tools and all sorts of state of the art equipment. They also have an entire building just for building the engines. I got to go through that building, and there must have been 500 engines in there, once again, all of them exactly the same engine. They've got like 4 or 5 engine dynos, and they are able to tune every engine so that they are all within like 2 horsepower of each other.

And then there's the pit crews. Holy freakin crap. When you see them goin on tv, its not that exiting, but I got to see them practice, and it was rediculous how fast they go. It was also a whole lot louder than you hear on tv...

I also got to go into a wind tunnel and that was cool, but the coolest part was they've got this thing that looks sorta like a dyno, but its used to test suspensions instead. Each wheel is sitting on its own separate platform that's got a bunch of hydraulics powering it, and they bounce up and down to simulate certain tracks. You'd be suprised how bumpy some of those tracks can be (mainly the road courses) because the car actually gets airborn at certain points.

I'll just leave it at this. I wish they put as much money into the tuner scene as they put into nascar.

The guy won't listen, and I don't hate him completely just when he starts putting down import cars just because and i quote him on this "They're bodies are weak made of plastic or some cheap material" which made me laugh. Funny thing to last thing car related i said to him, another trick. After he starts talking about imports being crap again I asked him where Mustangs are mad he said America, then I asked him so technically wouldn't Mustangs be considered import cars because they're imported from the states. He goes silent for about 5 mins then the teacher walks in the class room. Haha.
