Yeah, what the title says.. My boss scored me some free V.I.P. tickets for the Auto Show here in Grand Rapids tonight. It doesnt open to the Public until tomorrow, which is sweet. Hopefully I can get some really good pictures while I'm there.

But that's besides the point.. The tickets say Black Tie Optional.....so, someone dress me!

 

i think it means that you can eather wear a tie or not, its not manditiroy..im not sure tho

 

alright, but what about the rest of what I wear?? Some web sites were suggesting I wear a friggin tux or black business suit, but I dunno if all that is necessary.. I figured nice khakies, button down dress shirt, and dress shoes would cover it. But I don't want to be "that guy" that sticks out like a sore thumb ya know??

 

i would just wear like you sead, a pair of dress pants, black dress shoes and a white dress shirt, i dont think you will stick out..alot of people wear like sutes and stuff and its not like ^that is really dressy..looks like your a business man, i like wearing that stuff, you get alot of attention and everyone says you look good

 

I concur, I love rockin' a suit.. But at the same time wearing one to a car show doesn't really appeal to me. I dunno, I'll probly just end up winging it and if I think I'm going to look like a total ***, I'll run home and change. I live about 10 minutes from where the show is...

 

Black tie means a black bow tie. Here in the south it means a tux.

 

Yeah black tie is tuxedo. Black tie optional basically means wear a suit and tie, but no need for a tux.

 

you dont own a mustang or a camaro/firebird...have some class and dress up...

I think all in all, it means dress nicely none the less
