Exclamation 00 Civic si PCM CODE 1607

So Ive been having trouble with my car and I have read up on this 1607 code about PCM failure and the only way around it seems to be replacing the PCM. The car feels like at 3500 rpm's its hitting a rev limiter and I have to shift gears. Has anyone else had this problem and is there anyway around it? is this a common problem in the B16A2's The ECU'S are freeking expensive and I want to make sure that this will never happen again.

This is an uncommon problem. If the code returns after resetting the ECU, then you need to replace it.

I have tryed to erase the code but it keeps coming back almost instantly. what do I have to do when I get this new computer? I am not buying it from honda but i know they will need to reset it and mess with the VIN numbers???? How much does that cost?

All you do is buy a replacement, disconnect the battery for 15 minutes or so, unplug the old ECU, plug in the new one, and reconnect the battery. You should be good to go.
