Hey i was wondering if anybody here could help me out i bought a 2001 civic at an insurance auction, and when i got the car home and started it the car would run for about 2 second and than it shuts off. so it starts no problem but just shuts off. i have been told that my security key might be bad, but i was wondering if anybody here could help me out and if anybody has had that problem or could tell me if it is the key or if it is something else.

 

As far as I know, if the key is bad, it won't start the first time.
It's just cranks but it wouldn't turn over.
