01 honda civic 5spd. computer went bad can i use an Auto computer

well i have a 01 honda civic ex 5spd 2door. The computer that is in it is
37820-PLR-A02 and i have been told i can use 37820-PLR-A03.

Can only one verify if useing A03 is correct?

Either way i am not having any luck finding either one of those computers!!

Do anyone know if i can use a computer out of an Automatic transmission with a vtec.

I am finding alot of computers with an autotransmission still with vtec!

Help PLEase if anyone knows, super annoying. Honda wants 700 bucks for a computer.

Or if you know of any computers that will work and if you can provide the numbers let me know

Thanks

It should start and run with the auto computer but when you go to drive it's going to throw transmission codes and probably enter limp mode. So that would be useful for a test only to confirm that your computer was really bad.

I took the car to honda and they charged me to confirm that the computer is bad.

So i def now i need a new one, just dont want to buy a NEW one from honda. 700 is alot for a car thats not worth more than 3k

thanks for you input, i figured the auto computer wouldnt work

Go to car-part.com and find a junkyard ECU. No need to buy new, it's pretty rare for a Honda ECU to go bad.
