Default 02 sensor.....

Today took my car to autozone due to my check engine light, they say its the heater part of the 02 sensor (first one, not the one in the cat) is this something that could be caused by something else. Although im sure im going to have to replace it i was wondering if there is ANYTHING else that could cause this.....02 sensors are not cheap and im broke....

What specific CEL code was thrown? Did you clear the CEL code from the ECU to make sure that the CEL turns On again and that the same code repeats?

A new O2 sensor is likely to fix the problem, though there is also a possibility that the problem is caused by a bad wire in the heater circuit.
