Default 04 civic ex is all over the road after bumps, follows grooves really bad

My em2 was wrecked in the front end before I purchased it, I was unaware since it had been fixed prior to me getting it but after having it awhile and doing some work on it myself here and there I've came to the conclusion it was a pretty good collision I think. The core support was pretty crushed and straightened back out by someone, most of the mounting brackets on the headlights are broken/cracked. I noticed when I bought it the hood had been crunched and then straightened back out, but now I see that the fenders may have also been replaced cause they don't look like they have been damaged at all but they are missing a good amount of the bolts on both sides, they can be moved around a little pretty easily and the gap is almost non existent on the side against the door. Just far enough to keep them from making contact and buckling. When driving the car it tends to follow any grooves or changes in the pavement, it is also very loud and violent going over bumps or potholes, like very, I've stopped countless times after hitting a pothole and I was sure I'd broken something or damaged a wheel or something. It's that loud and rough. It gets pretty hard to keep going straight if you hit any bumps or imperfections in the road as well. So, now that I've given a little background on the car. What I'm hoping to get some help with is where to start diagnosing the steering/ suspension issues I'm having that are causing this? Hopefully I posted in the right place, if not I apologize. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks In advance.

If the struts are old I'd probably start there, also make sure the rack and pinion is good, my car was very similar to what you described, the rack was trashed and so were the struts, replaced them both and all is good now
