I hope someone can help me. My problem is that the idle speed on this car just wont come down. Its rpm's are at 4000 in park. The timing is good. Adjusting the idle is of no use, it has no effect. The brakes are acting wierd. Sometimes hard and sometimes soft and spongy.It just happened one day. It ran fine then afterstopping at a red light it just spazzed out. Its not the motor mount either. I'm at a loss. Could someone please give some direction. I'm out of ideas. Thanks so much.

 

i think you got a Idle Air Control Valve.
disconnect the electrical connection and start it up.
see if that makes a difference.
