1988 Civc SE Won't start I need help!
Ok here is the issue. I did a long distance purchase of an 88 Civic SE. They were only available in Canada. For drive train purposes they are the same as a DX. Ok here is what is going on. He stored the car for the winter and had the battery out. He put the battery back in and it started right up when he was getting it ready to ship it to me. The alternator stopped working so he purchased a new one and when he was installing it he disconnected the battery. When he went to hook the battery back up the accidentally let his ratchet fall and hit the other battery post. Now the car cranks but will not start. There is a code 20 on the ECU. Any suggestions as to what is wrong? He has checked every fuse and all are good. The ECU has power as it shows the 20 flashes. He has unhooked the battery and let it sit for a few minutes and then hooked it back up but the same problem is still there. Not sure if it is the code 20 that is the cause or something else.
Thanks

No I have not yet. I have the car home now though but am very busy. I started putting on a new alternator as the previous owner got a new one for it but did not get time to install it and needed the old one back for the core charge. I don't think I will find anything with the scanner but I will try in a week or two.
