Unhappy 1989 honda civic DX Normal Idle rpm?

i have a honda civic dx that somewhat is starting to do like **** on gas. and prior to a few months back the timing belt tensioner slipped out of place and the timing belt i think has slipped. but last time i think it slipped bad out of time due to us trying to pop the clutch "new alternator install" dumb bastid wasnt reading the instructions on the damn install, last time id let anyone touch my car. but it slipped severly out of time last time to the point the damn thing wouldnt start at all. so once i got it back and running i noticed the timing belt tensioner spring is all stretched out so i used a coathanger LOL. well its been about a half year and from all my peeling out and clutch poppin i think the timing belt has gone a tad off. so is why im here asking does anyone know the idle standard rpm? and another question slightly off topic but kinda on topic, i searched one of the biggest junkyards in colorado for a civic CRX cluster with a Tach, and no luck, so i took a tach out of a Acura Legend 88 i think or one of those damn cars, its a acura tho and the pinouts on the back of the tach look similar, would it work without any heavy conversions? it has the standard 2x mounting screws that are driven directly into the plastic and the 3 electrode screws "12+/gnd/signal. thanks for any info

Whenever your timing belt slips you need to replace it with a new belt right away. The slipping in the first place means that the belt has stretched out. Also slipping will damage the teeth on the belt.

The tensioner spring is used only to set initial tension, while turning the engine by hand after installing the belt. After that the bolt in the center of the tensioner needs to be TIGHT to lock in the adjustment. The spring does nothing during normal running.
