1993 DX hatchback issues
I have a 93 dx hatch, it’s all stock, except for an after market exhaust I put on to replace the rattle can it had on it. My question is why would the exhaust smell really really gassy and the idle be a little funky? It seems that it drives normal, no sputtering, no loss of power or cutting out, just when I stop at lights the smell is almost unbearable and on top of that the gas mileage has been suffering slightly. I took the IACV off along with the lines to it and clean them all, but that didn’t seem to help much. I’ve replaced the spark plugs, wires, dizzy cap. My next step would be to check the mechanical timing and then the timing with a timing gun. Any thoughts on what it could be? Also when I drive there is a small rattle noise that seems to be coming from underneath the car somewhere in the middle, maybe a loose exhaust shield? Any help is appreciated! Thank you!
