It only does it going uphill?

Devinmockk 12-13-2012 11:35 AM

Yes but i think it might be that my catalytic converter is clogged up from being driven for a couple miles with 8qts. of oil in it so i think if i changed that it would work better.

Check the spark timing first. Having it retarded will really kill performance. Timing can change suddenly if the timing belt skips a tooth. If that has happened, you should put on a new belt immediately to avoid having it fail completely.

8 quarts of oil is wayyyyyyy to much for your car that could b the issue, how many miles are on the car?

Devinmockk 12-14-2012 11:15 AM

i checked the timing and its perfect all around and i have no idea how many miles are on it the gauge cluster is from a different car but i think the engine has around 70k tho And yes for an engine that has a max of 4.5 qts the dipsh*t put more oil in it then drove the sh*t out of it and had it overheat so i have no idea what to do other then that.

Driven overheated you should check the compression.

Oil change on that engine is 3.75 quarts-- including a new filter.

yeah and i traded a perfectly good running car for this thing and the dude had no idea what he was doing. last thing i need is having to do a rebuild.
