1996 Civic AC Problems
 

I have a 1996 Honda Civic and my AC blows hot when idling or in traffic but blows cold when driving at 100km on the highway. When I start the car with the AC on at idle, the compressor clutch comes on for a couple seconds and then cuts off for about 2 minutes and repeats this process. Majority of the time the compressor clutch is off which is why i suspect the AC blows warm. Also, the condenser gets very hot and if I use water to cool down the condenser, the compressor clutch comes on and stays on and the AC blows cold at idle but it only does this if i throw water on the condenser.

Anyone knows what can be causing this to happen?

is the condenser fan working? if your moving regular air flow will cool the condenser sitting it wont cool the condenser and allow it to work properly.
